Nawal Alsadon

Biography

Nawal Alsadon, born in Baghdad in 1953, graduated in 1980 with a degree in Graphic Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Romania. She began her artistic career with group exhibitions at The Association of Iraqi Artists gallery in Baghdad in 1975 and has since participated in numerous international exhibitions across Romania, Yemen, Syria, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Scotland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Turkey.

Alsadon’s solo exhibitions began in 1978 at the Culture House in Bucharest and continued with notable shows at the Fine Art Academy in Bucharest (1980), the Ministry of Culture Exhibition Hall in Yemen (1985), the National Museum-Kunst Forening in Copenhagen (1990), Shambala Gallery in Copenhagen (1992, 2000), Culture House KUC in Copenhagen (1999), Gallery Al Mada in Damascus (2002), her studio in Old Damascus (2004), Art House Gallery in Copenhagen (2005), and the French Cultural Center in Damascus (2007). Her work reflects a broad cultural engagement, showcasing her art across diverse global contexts.
