Biography
Walid Ebeid, born in Cairo in 1970 and raised in Yemen, completed his BFA with Honours from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, in 1992. Known for his powerful and expressive style, his work has received international acclaim.
Shortly after graduating, Ebeid was invited by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture to exhibit at the Hall of Diplomats, a venue typically reserved for established artists.
Ebeid has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including DAR Art Fair in Amman, Azad Art Gallery in Cairo, Fann A Porter in Dubai, and Gallery Dai in Cairo. His art has also been showcased at Art Talks in Cairo, Gallery Bou Shahri in Kuwait, the National Gallery in Cairo, Mahmoud Mokhtar Cultural Center in Cairo, and the Palace of Fine Arts in Cairo.
His works are part of public and private collections throughout the Middle East, Europe, and Russia, including the Modern Art Museum in Cairo, Barjeel Art Foundation, the Royal Family of Jordan, Mubarak Public Library, and the Hariri Family Collection in Lebanon. Ebeid has received several scholarships and awards from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, as well as the Cleopatra Art Prize, in recognition of his distinctive artistic style.
