Biography

Elmira Mirmiran is a visual artist based in Tehran, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and a Master’s degree in Painting from the University of Science and Culture in Tehran. Since 2004, she has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, showcasing her work in painting, printmaking, drawing, and photography. Notable exhibitions include “FOR LIFE” (AARAN PROJECT 2023), “Some-Place-Else” (AARAN PROJECT 2022), and “Pulp Narratives” (AARAN PROJECT 2021). She has also been featured in international exhibitions such as the 9th International Biennial of Engraving in Italy (2011) and the International Triennial of Engraving in France (2012).
Mirmiran currently lectures in drawing and printmaking at Charsoo Honar Cultural Artistic Institute, Art University of Zanjan, and the Fine Arts School for Girls. Her work explores the spiritual and material layers we encounter in everyday life, focusing on how our perceptions are influenced by our surroundings. She is particularly interested in textures and the transparency of materials, aiming to evoke senses in the viewer through their combination.
