Dariush Zandi

Biography

Dariush Zandi’s love for photography began as a child in Tehran, where he spent summers helping at a local studio and received his first camera at eight. His passion for photography grew during his university years while studying art, architecture, and urban design in New York City. He later refined his photography skills through studies in New York and California.

In the early 1980s, Zandi and his colleagues founded the Dubai Art Centre, where he established the photography wing. His work has appeared in numerous publications and corporate collections, and he has contributed to significant restoration projects in the UAE, such as Sheikh Saeed House and Dubai Museum. He also founded the photography studio Total Design and the gallery Total Arts, both located in The Courtyard, Dubai’s first dedicated art space.
