Bassem Dahdouh

Biography

Bassem Dahdouh, born in Damascus in 1964, is a prominent Syrian artist whose work deeply explores the trials of human existence through evocative human-animal hybrid figures. He studied art at the University of Damascus and earned a PhD from Helwan University in Egypt. Initially known for his realistic figurative paintings, Dahdouh’s recent work emphasizes composition, blending graphic elements with vibrant colors to enhance emotional depth. 

Alongside his artistic career, Dahdouh has made significant contributions as an educator, teaching fine arts at Damascus University and the Arab International University. His work has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions across the Middle East, including Damascus, Beirut, Alexandria, Tunis, and Kuwait, as well as international group shows in Istanbul, Tehran, Canada, Bulgaria, Geneva, and Cairo.
