Biography
Sadra Baniasadi, born in 1991 in Tehran, Iran, is a painter. He studied painting at Tehran Art University from 2010 to 2015 and began exhibiting his work in galleries during his studies. Initially drawn to cartoons and comics, he won a junior prize at the Yomiuri Shimbun cartoon festival in Tokyo in 2005. While his focus later shifted to painting, his interest in satire continued to influence his artistic style.
During his university years, Sadra experimented with various forms of art, including writing interconnected short stories and creating sound collages as a DJ. These diverse experiences have shaped his unique approach to painting. Sadra Baniasadi has held many solo and group exhibitions in Tehran.
