Biography
Zaid Shawwa, from Jordan, studied Engineering at the University of Jordan and earned an MBA from the American University in Dubai. He began with classic charcoal portraits and landscapes before transitioning to abstract expressionism, combining it with cubism in his current minimalist style.
Shawwa’s work, inspired by real-life moments, uses acrylic and oil paints with warm underlayers and cooler top colours to symbolise the human soul’s depth. He has exhibited widely, including solo shows at Wadi Finan Art Gallery in Amman and group exhibitions in Oman and Dubai.
