Biography
Born in Homs in 1977, Mouteea Murad studied Fine Arts at the University of Damascus. His work, inspired by traditional Islamic art, merges spirituality and form through intricate geometric patterns. Drawing from Op art’s illusionistic perspective and Suprematism’s grid-like forms, Murad’s bold use of color infuses his paintings with a contemporary, playful aesthetic. His compositions reflect mathematical precision and spatial order, contrasting sharply with his earlier minimalist, monochrome works focused on existential themes. A monograph of Murad’s work was launched alongside his *Thresholds* exhibition at Ayyam Gallery Dubai in November 2016. His art is held in private and public collections globally, including the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts. Murad currently resides and works in Sharjah, UAE.
