Leila Jabre Jureidini

Biography

Leila Jabre Jureidini, born in 1963 in Lebanon, currently resides in Beirut. She studied graphic design at ESAG in Paris and earned a degree in Fine Arts and Communications Design from Parsons The New School for Design in New York. Jureidini also pursued sociology and anthropology at the Sorbonne University and has had a prolific career as a designer in France and the USA.

Her artistic practice bridges classical and conceptual art. Her bronze sculptures, featuring voluptuous feminine figures in dynamic, yogic poses, transform metal into a medium that celebrates movement’s fluidity. Jureidini’s mixed media works also explore consumerism, repurposing branded drink labels like Pepsi and 7Up into patchwork patterns to critique contemporary commercial culture.

Since 2008, Jureidini has exhibited her work internationally in London, Paris, and Beirut, including at Artspot RMB Gallery, Beirut Art Fair, and Parallax Art Fair. Notably, she received a “Mention Spéciale du Jury” at the Sursock Museum’s 30th and 31st Salon d’Automne in 2012. Her work is permanently displayed at Galerie Janine Rubeiz in Beirut.
