Biography
Joseph Harb, born in Beirut in 1964, pursued his artistic education at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) and the Lebanese University. His oeuvre is characterized by abstract mixed media works that incorporate seemingly disparate objects through collage techniques, effectively challenging traditional artistic boundaries. The layered painted images on his canvases invite viewers to explore the complex relationship between image, form, and composition.
Since relocating to the United States in 2000, Harb has maintained a robust connection with Lebanon, regularly exhibiting at Galerie Janine Rubeiz, where his work is permanently displayed, and the Sursock Museum. His international presence has been established through numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at the Katzen Art Centre and the American University in Washington DC (2011), as well as at major art fairs such as Abu Dhabi Art, Art Dubai, and Beirut Art Fair.
