Biography

Born in 1966, Lebanese photographer Gilbert Hage is renowned for his exploration of contemporary photography, emphasizing intimacy and personal connection. Educated at Saint Esprit University in Kaslik, where he has taught since 1990, Hage also imparts his expertise at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA). His work, which often features portraits and landscapes, maintains an objective approach while conveying a deep sense of closeness. Each photographic series is governed by specific parameters set by Hage, allowing for a profound engagement with the subject. Viewing photography as a dynamic exchange between the photographer and the subject, he embraces the medium’s potential for organic change.
