Biography
Ahoo Maher, born in 1990 in Tehran, Iran, has been based in Vienna since 2008. She pursued music education at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna from 2009 to 2011 and completed her Master of Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 2017. Maher has held solo exhibitions at Porgy & Bess and Dastan’s Basement Gallery in 2015 and has exhibited widely in international group shows.
Notable group exhibitions include VBKÖ Gallery (2012), U5 Gallery (2013), Vista Gallery (2014), Studio One (2015), and various venues in Vienna, Graz, and Bratislava through 2017. Her performance work spans multiple venues, including the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Echoraum, and Art UnAnchored Festival. As an independent artist, performer, and curator, Maher’s diverse practice encompasses painting, installation, and performance, focusing on exploring living conditions from a women’s perspective.
